Carla + Konstantin Engagement Adventure - Machu Picchu - Peru

I think it goes without saying, “Hiking Machu Picchu will take your breath away.” Not only with the views and ancient history of this magical place, but the fact that we are up at 8,835 feet where the altitude sickness might make you a bit dizzy, queezy, and uneasy. For Carla and Konstantin they didn’t think twice about it, they were all in for the adventure. We began at 6 am riding the bus up a steep windy hill from Aguas Calientes to Macchu Picchu.

Caro + Ben Chateau Wedding - France - Montpellier

We didn’t understand what we signed up for with Caro and Ben’s destination wedding until we started driving deep into the south of France on an ancient Spanish road leading into the Madieres valley. Speckles of golden sunlight flickered through passing trees with faint impressions of massive rock cliffs, rich greenery and in the distance a chateau nested in the cliffs above a “meandering” calm river. A feeling of deep peace started to overcome us. Time slowed down. Our escort, Lucie (the bride’s cousin) said to us in the most sweet charming french accent, “You know… we are headed to a very special place.” We will never forget the soft smile on her face as she said, “This… is the beginning of the end of the world.”

Carla + Konstantin Adventure Wedding - Lima Peru - Machu Picchu

When Carla and Konstantin (and their adorable little girl Sofia) skyped with us from their home in Los Angeles we were immediately mesmerized by their relaxed personalities and sense of adventure. We quickly discovered how athletic/physical and active they are while at the same time very easy going. They like almost all the same things, never fight, and have very athlete minded team/family mentalities. They enjoy traveling, history, architecture, and love European coastal towns and islands. Since Carla grew up in Peru with many of her family and friends, they decided to have a multi-day event in Lima Peru and turn their wedding into a full blown experience for their guests.

Lisa + Brian Maryland Wedding - Chesapeake Bay - Wades Point Inn

Its no exaggeration to say that Lisa and Brian tend to live in a bit of a “dream world.” Their Portland house looks like a haunted home of a ship captain, a faerie, and a crazy cat lady. Together they are in the process of writing a children’s book (Lisa writing, Brian illustrating), and they have deep-rooted love for animals, boats, and all that is weird in the world. They got engaged at a Welsh, lakeside castle in Washington, where Brian proposed with a picnic in a fairytale garden, a total surprise to Lisa.

Calamigos Ranch Wedding Birch Wood Room Malibu California

Dani + Caroline Calamigos Ranch Wedding - Malibu California - Birchwood Room

When we first spoke with Dani and Caroline they told us they wanted to get married in an old cemetery. What? So awesome! Among many ideas, they chose the gorgeous setting of the Birchwood Room at Calamigos Ranch in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains in Malibu Wine country. Calamigos Ranch is the only destination event ranch for weddings in the area. The birchwood room provided the perfect backdrop for their intimate wedding between the natural limestone waterfall and massive weeping willow trees. Massive oak trees surrounded their reception area with twinkling lights. The perfect summer sunset affair.

Katy + Derek Bend Wedding - House on Metolius - Central Oregon

After visiting dozens of venues Katy and Derek chose to have their wedding at the House on Metolius in the heart of Central Oregon. This private estate has been a retreat destination for a little over one hundred years. The spectacular views of the Metolius River, Mt. Jefferson, Three Finger Jack and the surrounding fields and trees made the perfect backdrop for their wedding. After getting to know Katy and Derek more we soon realized that this place reflected their personalities in so many ways: natural, relaxing, adventurous, beautiful, calm, playful, open, contemplative, and real to name a few.

Emily + Pete Villa Cimbrone Wedding - Ravello - Amalfi Coast - Italy

If you’re looking for an adventure wedding and you are in love with Italy, look no further than Villa Cimbrone. It’s the jewel of Ravello, Italy along the Amalfi Coast. It is an enchanting 12th century building nestled on cliffs overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. It’s only accessible by foot along a panoramic stone path from the center of Ravello. This enchanting villa has castle-like architecture, stone fireplaces, tiled floors, antiques, oil paintings, cliff-side gardens, and friendly faces that greet you with the most exquisite feeling. The ambience here is like stepping into a medieval poem. Having your reception dinner in their medieval Crypt will transport you and your guests back in time.
