Anya + Connor Humboldt Wedding - Avenue of the Giants - California
What happens when a Siberian Russian marries a fiery redheaded sports enthusiast? An incredible array of natural beauty, philosophical depth, and comedy. Anya and Connor’s wedding combined Connor’s rural roots in the hills of Humboldt County with Anya’s upbringing on the other side of the world near the worlds deepest Lake Baikal in Siberia, Russia. Their simple and natural ceremony with 40 people in Williams Grove on the Avenue of the Giants was the perfect location. The redwood trees set an exquisite tone with nature’s natural decorations. These giants have a very old and peaceful feeling, the perfect cathedral.
Carla + Konstantin Adventure Wedding - Lima Peru - Machu Picchu
When Carla and Konstantin (and their adorable little girl Sofia) skyped with us from their home in Los Angeles we were immediately mesmerized by their relaxed personalities and sense of adventure. We quickly discovered how athletic/physical and active they are while at the same time very easy going. They like almost all the same things, never fight, and have very athlete minded team/family mentalities. They enjoy traveling, history, architecture, and love European coastal towns and islands. Since Carla grew up in Peru with many of her family and friends, they decided to have a multi-day event in Lima Peru and turn their wedding into a full blown experience for their guests.
Emily + Pete Villa Cimbrone Wedding - Ravello - Amalfi Coast - Italy
If you’re looking for an adventure wedding and you are in love with Italy, look no further than Villa Cimbrone. It’s the jewel of Ravello, Italy along the Amalfi Coast. It is an enchanting 12th century building nestled on cliffs overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. It’s only accessible by foot along a panoramic stone path from the center of Ravello. This enchanting villa has castle-like architecture, stone fireplaces, tiled floors, antiques, oil paintings, cliff-side gardens, and friendly faces that greet you with the most exquisite feeling. The ambience here is like stepping into a medieval poem. Having your reception dinner in their medieval Crypt will transport you and your guests back in time.
Bernadette + Andy Timberline Lodge Wedding - Mt Hood - Oregon
Andy and Bernadette share a special enthusiasm for Mt. Hood in all of her seasons. Although they have the fondest passion for winter, to which you will find them snowboarding all over Mt Hood. In the summer, she draws them to explore all of her majesty and surrounding lush forests. They love to be on the river enjoying the sunshine, or hiking and exploring waterfalls. One of their favorite adventures is searching for new and secluded camp spots to enjoy together with their dog, Suntwo. They dream of our wedding incorporating their love of the mountain and to be surrounded by nature and their closest family and friends. They envision to look back at their wedding day and see the moments of laughter, happy tears, pure joy, and love in their wedding photos.
Caro + Ben Chateau Wedding - France - Montpellier
We didn’t understand what we signed up for with Caro and Ben’s destination wedding until we started driving deep into the south of France on an ancient Spanish road leading into the Madieres valley. Speckles of golden sunlight flickered through passing trees with faint impressions of massive rock cliffs, rich greenery and in the distance a chateau nested in the cliffs above a “meandering” calm river. A feeling of deep peace started to overcome us. Time slowed down. Our escort, Lucie (the bride’s cousin) said to us in the most sweet charming french accent, “You know… we are headed to a very special place.” We will never forget the soft smile on her face as she said, “This… is the beginning of the end of the world.”
Katy + Derek Bend Wedding - House on Metolius - Central Oregon
After visiting dozens of venues Katy and Derek chose to have their wedding at the House on Metolius in the heart of Central Oregon. This private estate has been a retreat destination for a little over one hundred years. The spectacular views of the Metolius River, Mt. Jefferson, Three Finger Jack and the surrounding fields and trees made the perfect backdrop for their wedding. After getting to know Katy and Derek more we soon realized that this place reflected their personalities in so many ways: natural, relaxing, adventurous, beautiful, calm, playful, open, contemplative, and real to name a few.
Lisa + Brian Maryland Wedding - Chesapeake Bay - Wades Point Inn
Its no exaggeration to say that Lisa and Brian tend to live in a bit of a “dream world.” Their Portland house looks like a haunted home of a ship captain, a faerie, and a crazy cat lady. Together they are in the process of writing a children’s book (Lisa writing, Brian illustrating), and they have deep-rooted love for animals, boats, and all that is weird in the world. They got engaged at a Welsh, lakeside castle in Washington, where Brian proposed with a picnic in a fairytale garden, a total surprise to Lisa.
Nikki + Paul Caribbean Wedding - Portofino Beach Resort - Belize
Every time we commit to shooting a destination wedding we dive in deep whole heartedly into the entire experience. We become one with all of the guests and ebb and flow with every move and feeling we see. “Going all in” is really the only way we feel we can truly tell the full story. When Nikki and Paul invited us to be part of their Belize wedding experience with 50 of their best friends we knew we were in for a serious adventure. Like Nikki’s words describe so well, “You are my north, south, my east and west. May our love forever guide us through life’s unknown.” They lead us through some of this beautiful unknown which we will never forget.
