Epic wide angle shot of bride and groom dancing in chateau with guests holding candles from 2 different levels om chateau in Cirque de Navacelles outside Montpellier France

Caro + Ben Chateau Wedding - France - Montpellier

We didn’t understand what we signed up for with Caro and Ben’s destination wedding until we started driving deep into the south of France on an ancient Spanish road leading into the Madieres valley. Speckles of golden sunlight flickered through passing trees with faint impressions of massive rock cliffs, rich greenery and in the distance a chateau nested in the cliffs above a “meandering” calm river. A feeling of deep peace started to overcome us. Time slowed down. Our escort, Lucie (the bride’s cousin) said to us in the most sweet charming french accent, “You know… we are headed to a very special place.” We will never forget the soft smile on her face as she said, “This… is the beginning of the end of the world.”

Bride and groom walking at sunset looking out over ocean in Belize at Portofino Beach Resort

Nikki + Paul Caribbean Wedding - Portofino Beach Resort - Belize

Every time we commit to shooting a destination wedding we dive in deep whole heartedly into the entire experience. We become one with all of the guests and ebb and flow with every move and feeling we see. “Going all in” is really the only way we feel we can truly tell the full story. When Nikki and Paul invited us to be part of their Belize wedding experience with 50 of their best friends we knew we were in for a serious adventure. Like Nikki’s words describe so well, “You are my north, south, my east and west. May our love forever guide us through life’s unknown.” They lead us through some of this beautiful unknown which we will never forget.

Bride and Groom embracing near Metolious River at House on Metolius

Katy + Derek Bend Wedding - House on Metolius - Central Oregon

After visiting dozens of venues Katy and Derek chose to have their wedding at the House on Metolius in the heart of Central Oregon. This private estate has been a retreat destination for a little over one hundred years. The spectacular views of the Metolius River, Mt. Jefferson, Three Finger Jack and the surrounding fields and trees made the perfect backdrop for their wedding. After getting to know Katy and Derek more we soon realized that this place reflected their personalities in so many ways: natural, relaxing, adventurous, beautiful, calm, playful, open, contemplative, and real to name a few.

Bride and Groom crazy dancing at Indian wedding at Sunriver Resort in Bend Oregon

Niki + Amit Indian Wedding - Sunriver Resort - Central Oregon

Niki and Amit are two people who literally glow with life. They are are something like a river that gives and receives and every time we find ourselves in their presence everything flows effortlessly. Their wedding was nothing short of a real journey. We were “all in” with them and even though we were in central Oregon at Sunriver Resort we felt like we went to India for 3 full days of celebration. The heat was intense. The colors were on fire. And the love shared between everyone was something we will never EVER forget

Bride and Groom hysterically laughing near Ecotrust Building in Portland

Amy + Jon Ecotrust Building Wedding - Portland, Oregon

When we first met Amy and John they invited us over to their beautiful SE Portland home. When we arrived we found ourselves immersed in a full display of wine and cheese options. They wanted to help decide which wines to choose for their wedding. Our conversations went late into the night and we learned that these two have a deep passion for telling and sharing stories. Curiosity and laughter are about the two best traits to have and John and Amy just keep going and going and going. And we loved it. They are real Portland people.

Bride and Groom at candle light reception dinner atop Mt Hood at Timberline Lodge

Sara + Wes Timberline Lodge Wedding - Silcox Hut - Winter Wedding

Sara and Wes style was very “Northwest” rustic and earthy. They both had never envisioned a traditional wedding, and when they toured Silcox Hut at the top of Mt Hood they knew right away that they wanted to get married there. Their aim was to bring together the people they love most for a unique night on Mt Hood all together. Since the Hut is so unique and incredible on it’s own the planned for decorations that fit in with the feel of the hut and let the venue speak for itself. They love a creative photography and wanted to bring in some artistic flair and vision to their wedding.

Brilliant Lightning Photo with Bride and Groom over Bay

Lisa + Brian Maryland Wedding - Chesapeake Bay - Wades Point Inn

Its no exaggeration to say that Lisa and Brian tend to live in a bit of a “dream world.” Their Portland house looks like a haunted home of a ship captain, a faerie, and a crazy cat lady. Together they are in the process of writing a children’s book (Lisa writing, Brian illustrating), and they have deep-rooted love for animals, boats, and all that is weird in the world. They got engaged at a Welsh, lakeside castle in Washington, where Brian proposed with a picnic in a fairytale garden, a total surprise to Lisa.

Galen + Carl Castaway Portland Wedding

These two fabulous humans reached out to us while we were visiting family in California so we skyped. Although we always prefer to meet in person we immediately loved their smiles and laughter. Once we learned more about the day they wanted to create we could tell they wanted a relaxed but meaningful day full of love and friendship. They were not focused on decor or the details, they were focused on the moments. So that was what they were also looking for in the Photography. Candids of all the fun and celebration and the connection between.
